Logan William Peter was born on October 24th 2007. He weighed 7 ponds 10 ounces. Below are a few photos of our beautiful little boy. The first of me right before labour begins, second, me Ry and Logan hours after he arrived...third, Logan in his carseat on the drive home..and the final two are him at home the past two days. I hope all you are doing well out there in blogland and I do think of you often. I hope to try keep up with this bloggidy blog still. I have the year off so here's hoping right? Hello well I am now 30 weeks pregnant and not much longer to go now. We have our house up for sale and things have been pretty nuts. My stomach is gigantuone. Everything is going pretty good. Here's my last ultrasound from I think 22 weeks.

Well I am very excited the past about four days cause the baby has been moving around like crazy. Its an amazing feeling when you finally get a connection with the little life inside of your belly. Ry felt the baby move for the first time this morning after me persisting him to keep trying..stubborn baby already lol!..always stops moving whenever we want him to.

Tomorrow we go for our second ultrasound and it will be Ryan's first time cause he couldn't make the first one. I am now 23 weeks along...the first ultrasound was at 13 weeks. I am excited but also can't help but being a smidgyy bit nervous. Any mother would understand the way I feel I am sure. We all just want healthy babies.

So my tummy is getting big..I've gained about 11 pnds so far. My belly button will start poking out soon..hehe I'm excited for that. I'm just happy because I have so much more energy now and I feel like I have my patience back ...well for the most part. I am also done vomiting finally. Just incase you wanted to know that special detail.

Me and Ry have been working on renovating our house..painting, garden/yard work, fixing up little projects here and there...nyway we are trying to get ready so we can sell our house and move a little closer to town. We hope to have the house on the market by August.

Also my sister is pregnant with twins!!! so we will need to live closer to eachother for sure. Me and my sister are really close and we need to be a big part of eachother's lives..and with three new babies ...well thats a little hard to see eachother every couple of days when you live an 45 min to an hour away. There are other reasons why it makes sense for us to move as well.

Well thats pretty much an update on our lives. I have been wanting to keep up with this blog because its so nice to be able to look back like a journal down the road. So I am going to make a better efort this time.

So for anybody that doesn't know yet me and Ry are having a baby!!! It is due on Oct 25Th and we are really excited. Yesterday it became a little more reality hearing the heartbeat and seeing the ultrasound. I am at 13 weeks.

I've been quite nauseated so I haven't been wanting to sit at the computer much these days but today I feel good so maybe the sickness is on its way out now!

Buddies, O's birthday, and Galiano

We are fostering a friend's kitty for a year. His name is Taz. He is so handsome and he is fitting in nicely...such a cute boy, we are so lucky to have him. Here is a photo of Ike and Taz hanging

It was my nephew Owen's 2nd birthday. I was lucky to be able to see him on his birthday and I even got to be at his party!!!!! He got a new bike from his parents..Boy is he cute and he is such a comedian, he loves to make people laugh! Happy Bday Owey!

Galiano was really really great. Did lots of hiking and exploring. Even in the fog it was beautiful. Here is a photo from our bedroom window. The cottage was 500sq feet and so cozy. It was perfect. I will definatly post more photos as many as I can...although it was tough taking pictures with the lack of light..most of them I took without the flash, I like getting the natural lighting.

Galiano Island

We are heading to our favorite Gulf Island, Galiano, for two nights in a ocean front, nestled in the trees cottage with a hottub on the patio. I bought this trip for ry as a surprise a while back. It is our 2nd anniversary this friday so this is how we are celebrating. I love it there its one of my favorite places in the world, the island is still much preserved and has great hiking, awesome scenery, spectacular beaches and a lot of birds, native plants etc.. We are bringing Tessa with us. These are the kinds of things I live for!

Go Canucks Go

Ry and I went to Vancouver on our weekend and saw a canucks game (my Christmas present from husband). It was my first Canucks live experience! Canucks fans sure are the loudest and craziest fans out there thats for sure. We lost in OT but it was still a great game and last night I'd like to add that we kicked Edmonton's asses, so there that makes up for the OT loss to Columbus. Vancouver was fun but I always love coming home from the big city I guess I''m just not a city gal. Vancouver is a beautiful city though...pretty skyline and gorgeous mountains surrounding.

The Conditions for skiing were amazing, couldn't ask for better... nice fresh layers of powder, sunny skies off & on... Oh yahh
I want to go back. I was trying to learn how to do jumps (while skiing) I managed to pull one off that was higher than the usual inch haha...ya gotta start somewhere right? anyways, I was proud of myself and thats all that counts. One day I'll do those big scary ones, but until then a foot of air will be just fine..anywho the chalet was so peaceful, it was not tough falling into that lifestyle. Good company, perfect skiing, hottub, sauna, drinks, yummy food and beautiful scenery mmm mmm mmmmmmmmm.......

We are heading up the Mountain for three nights to stay in a chalet with some friends. I am pumped! Last time I went snowboarding I discovered muscles that I didn't know existed..I am bringing my skis up to so I'll be switching between snowboarding and skiing. I look forward to the peacefulness up there and there is a ton of snow up there! I get to try out my new Jacket too..I love my new jacket its cozy.

'The Big Gust'

Yesterday afternoon we were getting southwesterly winds and arctic air was on its way in from the north. So I think the two fronts met and we got a huge gust of wind and it knocked trees down everywhere. It travelled through Sooke, into Colwood and My parents up in Nanaimo got it about half hour later. It was the weirdest freakish wind gust ever. A single mother with her newborn baby one block up from us had a tree come right through her roof destroying the entire house and they somehow thankfully were spared and got out safely. Across the street from us, as we were watching the huge wind gust hit, we saw a group of four trees roots and all be taken over just missing the house and then another huge fir tree luckily missing the two homes across from us by maybe a cm. Maybe a part of the roof was damaged thats it. So lucky. All the wires came down. Scary stuff....these two photos are taken from our house looking across the street.

oh and the Hip concert last night was oh so good....they were amazing and they played a lot of old stuff, my favorite stuff. our computer is being so sloooooooooooooooooooow. It needs a cleanup. A laptop would be nice ..but must spend money elsewhere. Like on a hot tub..yup. I have hmm lets see here...I have 300.00 in my hottub account.I am slowly on my way....this same account was my previous Kayak fund...(dork)remember I spent the money on clothes though cause I desperately needed stuff. Hope I can let this actually accumulate enough to get a hottub. mmmmm hottub...sounds nice right about now.

Exciting month ahead..on Sunday The Hip concert, and then we are going skiing/snowboarding at Mnt. Washington for three nights (on the 13th) with some close friends and then January 30th Ry is taking me to Vancouver for a CANUCKS GAME!!! My first one too, Im physced! Ry got us tickets for Christmas. And then I bought Ry, for our 2 year wedding anniversary, a two night getaway to Galiano Island (one of our favorite places to camp), we have a ocean front cabin this time though with a hottub out on the deck and the puppy girl gets to come too! So we will be a little broke after it all is over but what the hell right..We don't do these things often. I look forward to getting away. Life has been tiring lately.

I was listening to the radio and they were about to give away hip tickets and I already have tickets but front row ones sound better so I am trying to win..anyway I call in cause a Tragically Hip song is playing and when two play you have to be the 9th caller and you win tickets, so I call and I get almost interviewed by the radio dude... asking me Tragically hip questions and what my hip memories are...and I knew he was prob recording me to play afterwards. So after I was off the phone he plays our conversation on the radio and I sounded dorky. I didnt win tickets though. That was my excitement for the day. Oh then I called Rich and Leah to help try win and they tried for me also but didn't win. Thanks for trying guys. And they aren't even Hip fans what nice friends!

I procrastinate too much. With my own life not at work though. I am actually quite efficient and get things done at work, but at home I am really really bad with procrastinating. I really want and need to change this and some other bad habits and such thrown in there too. I know what I need in my life to make me happier but why don't I do it. I want to finish painting inside the house but I haven't. I want to paint and draw more, I want to frame my photography. I need to work on my artistic side more. That is me, I am an artistic person and I havent been doing enough. I feel better just writing about it maybe it will help me change.

Ryan and I had a great time over Christmas..Blogger would only let me put up a few photos...they all are from Christmas Day at my parents house in Nanaimo, but we also had a Christmas dinner at Ry's dad's house with 19 of us on Christmas Eve, and also a big dinner with Ry's mom's side of the family on Boxing Day, I will post them when it lets me. Anyway though it was so nice to see all our family this year. I love them.

Long time no blogging

hmmmm.... well its been forever...and its hard to get back into this honestly. I do wonder how everbody is doing though. I'm sure that after I post a couple of times that I'll be right back into it. There has been a lot going on..Life's going good, and I really lo0ok forward to Christmas. My whole family gets to be together this Christmas. Ryan has had to work 4 out of our 5 Chrsitmas' since we've been together and this year he if off an entire week over Christmas..Lucky ass I'm jealous. Not that my scedule is all that tough or anything...I'm pretty lucky too.

tHE WEATHER HAS BEEEN CRAZY..WE HAVE BEEN GETTING ..WOOPS capslock sorry...anyways, we have been getting pounded by storms here on the West Coast. Last Thursday night was the worst..Its was definatly the worst storm I have ever been in. The wind was up to 157KM out here in Sooke. At 12 midnight, I was just getting ready to climb into bed and it was really calm outside and we knew a big windstorm was coming straight at us..with strong NorthWesterly winds. That first gust was so strong and it just continuesd into the next gust and was continuous throughout the enitre night. We didn't sleep for one minute until about 6am or so. We were terrified and the animlas all were too. Three trees behing our house came down,one roots and all. There were flashes all acoss the sky from everybody's power going out and powerlines coming down etc...At one point I was actually expecting a tree to come through our roof. Luckily nobody was killed or injured as far as I know. must be thousands of trees down from this storm. Stanley park was sure hit bad too.. We drove over the Lions Gate yesterday and by the park in Vancouver and the difference in the way Stanley Park looks is huge. One family's house in Sooke was entirely destroyed by a tree/trees that fell on it. The people who lost there home were blown away by how kind everybody in Sooke has been to help them out. Strangers were taking days off of work to help them out. So thankful everybody is safe. I have heard a lot of close call stories.

That wind though was incredible. It was shocking and scary and it felt like our roof was going to blow off ..the whistly and squeeling wind and the gusts would get stronger and stronger.. There are two more sotms coming. We can handle anything now. I don't think that will happen again. Or hey...ya never know there could be a huge shift in our weather pattern cause of global warning as one factor..what do you think?

Anyway people might think Im exagerating but its true. This was the scariest wind I've ever expereienced.. In the middle of the night, I was thinking "Why in the hell did I wish for a big windstorm" as if I'd ever expect this to happen. ver intense.

So uhh thats new what else.........

Power Outages and a foot a white stuff to play in!

So we got dumped on Sunday evening..about a foot of snow...Victoria and the rest of the South Coast has all continued to get more snow...We lost our power Sunday night and just got it back last night around 9pm....It was minus 6 ish last night!!!!! and the windchill was way way down there.

We moved our mattress out to the living room and camped out next to the fireplace and brought out all the blankies and candles. It was so much fun. When the power came back on we just continued with our power out night in the dark. Oh but we did turn on the radio when we were able to.

It has been sooo peaceful. Nice blanket of white snow covering everything and absorbing all the sound...very few cars, being very slow, the sound of kids playing, no t.v. or anything. Just ourselves and our pets. Its so nice to have times like these. I have quite enjoyed it..Although don't get me wrong, I am quite looking forward to a hot bath. Lots of people still have power out, like about 20, 000 residents are still without power..wholey cow!

So 1986, 1996, and now 2006 Victoria has had big snow storms. But this year some are still recovering from massive flooding from all that rain and also problems from the major winds we had.

Sunday evening right after my last post, the power went out and the snow started, Ryan didn't get home until yesterday arund 3 It was just Tess, Ike, Meekah and myself..... I got the fire going good all day and Tess had a blast playing out in the snow...she just kept doing spins and throwing the snow everywhere..the snow is still continuing to entertain Tessa..she does her spins in it everytime we let her out, its quite cute and funny.

I'm home from Tofino now

Hi..I went away to Tofino with the four guys I support and a co-worker..we took the guys up for a weekend getaway to Tofino and stayed at a nice quaint hotel for the past two nights. It started to snow in Tofino (and the rest of the wet coast) yesterday morning so it was a possibility that we would be stuck there longer than planned. BUT we braved the conditions and drove the 5 or so hours back to Victoria.....It was crazy blizzardy out there...There's a lot of snow in some spots...the worst of it was probably between Port Alberni and Nanaimo although the whole island was hit and Vancouver was apparently hit even harder.

So they dropped me off in Colwood and I bussed out to our house..And guess what Ry was my bus driveer out to Sooke so I got to spend a half hour or so with him kinda sorta..... he's sleeping in town tonight cause it'll be too icy for him to drive out here when he's off and he just has to work again early tomorrow morning anyway, so he is camping out at sister Alison's house in town. My car is stranded in Brentwood Bay.

So all alone with no car in Sooke..well thats a lie I have my kids here with me (sorry Tessa, Ike and Meekah..how thoughtless that was of me).

Tofino was fun..Andrew and I got up early yesterday morning (before the snow) and it was a nice, clear and cold morning...we walked down to long beach and spent a good amount of time down there..Drew enjoyed filling his pockets with all sorts of shells and it was a blast watching him pick up gigantic peices of driftwood and running down to the ocean and chucking them into the water...He was definatly in his element! Probably one of his favorite things to do! I got some fantastic photos of him on the beach.

What else did we do? We ate a lot of very good food, watched a lot of T.v, wondered around Roy Henry Vickers Art Gallery(I love his paintings!!!), built a snowman, and enjoyed the sights and eachother's company.

So I'm happy to be home but I am sad to see that the snow has pretty much melted out here in Sookeland...I don't think we got very much snow at all here which is weird..we usually get more than in town. I was looking forward to taking Tessa for a walk in it. I won't complain though I'm just happy to have made it home. Its now my weekend. Yippee!!!!

Hope everybody had a good weekend and hope you are staying safe in those aweful driving conditions. By the way I heard it was like 17 and sunny in Toronto is this true???????????

As I was saying, my parents were down this weekend and brought Kayla with them for the first time. Other than the initial putting eachother in their place stuff and some jealousy(u can see quite clearly in this photo) they got along quite well. Its nice to know that we can visit eachothers houses with the kids from now on.

What do you think about Pictionary? I love it it is my favorite game...but we rarely play it cause a certain somebody is bitter towards the game because I was mean one time when we were playing. I told him I have matured since then.lol anyway I love pictionary...Sarah, Chris...remember our pictionary summer? that was a blast...ahhh good times, good times!

Whiffin Spit Photos from last week

Whiffin Spit is a very nice place for walking and enjoying nature. Unfortunatly the lovely view across the way kinda takes away from the tranquility of it all(see photo). Its very sad to look out and see the development happening in East Sooke in this particular spot. This was not necessary. For the people who live in Sooke Whiffin Spit is one of the special places to go and take your dogs for walks and enjoy the outdoors

When we were on our walk, we reached the end of the spit and we were sitting and enjoying watching the seals play and listening to the birds and the ocean and then we started to hear machinery digging and crap and instead of looking across at the trees in East Sooke Park, you are looking at a big clearing where houses are going to be built. I don't like it...I just want the trees back. Why did they have to do this there...stooooopid. I know development is necessary but I don't think it should have happened here.

Hello alone time..It seems like we haven't seen eachother in quite some time.. I'm sorry, but I have been having so much fun without you.

First Leah came over for two nights and three days..Erika was here for one of the three as well. We were busy painting and enjoying eachother's company. And then I worked and then Leah came back over for two more nights:) and then she left and I worked more and then my parents came from Nanaimo and my sister Alison came over too. So I haven't really missed you that much.

I've been enjoying the company of everybody..its been fun. But now that we are together again, I am happy to see you. I have time to catch up on my blog and to do some reading. I get to sprawl across the whole entire bed tonight...(this is me trying to be happy about sleeping alone..I really don't like it). Ry is taking the ferry to Vancouver after he's off work tonight...so I will be all alone until Thursday:( I will make the most out of it though

hmmm. so I don't have to work until Wednesday at 5pm! yippee doodle!!!!! so umm I have so many things I've thought about blogging about..so much has been going on and so many random thought moments that I've wanted to share but haven't had the time to write them down..So maybe some things will come back to me over the next couple of days.

Its looks like it is just gonna rain so I'm gonna stay at home and be lazy. I wish somebody would delever me cheeseburgers. I was reading doggas blog about mcdonalds and I know how disgusting it is but I always crave it after a night of drinking. Why is it that a greasy burger helps cure a hangover? So today is one of those days..but I am still in my pajamas and don't want to go anywhere.

I don't like to cook for just me so chances are I won't end up cooking anything...what should I do for dinner then..hmmm... leftover roast beef ..no I don't like the same tihng two days in a row. Bring me cheesemurmers. this craving will not go away....umm yes it will go away this craving will go away! monitor your thought Lindsay!! remember..the law of attraction!!! I'm probably going to do lots of posts over the next couple days...hopefully I have lots of brilliant thoughts to share with y'all

Its been raining like torentual downpour monsoon rain. Its bucketing down. Our suntube has a drip and just outside the entrance to our house there is a deep puddle..not in our house..but close and scary close. Too much water for the gutters and drainage to keep up its all flooding over.

Sooke Rd. has a five ft deep puddle on it in front of Westcoast Tirecraft. Soooo traffic is majorly backed up and people aren't making it through the big puddle so are needing to get towed out. Traffic is nutso out there. What really sucks is that Leah and Erika are coming to visit. I hope they get through ok and safely. Maybe Erika will have second thoughts about the drive out here.

Poor Ryan...he drives the city bus and he just called and said traffic lights are out everywhere. and he said he''s driving through lakes. To top it off his destination sign is broken so it says 'not in service' and there are no backup buses so he has to pull into each stop and explain this to the people waiting.....What a day!

I also just talked to our neighbour and her store she works at is completely flooded...she came home to pick up the camera for insurance photos..So many many people is busy out there fighting floods! Good luck to you!

dreary day outside. On monday Leah and Erika are coming out for a visit and helping us with painting our living room:) Leah and I were talking about what we were going to do when she comes out and we were brainstorming and she asked if we need anything painted...

we are wanting to paint our living room, kitchen and hall and know the colours already and stuff..just waiting till I felt in the mood to get going on it ...basically another procastination on my point..hehe

BUT we are gonna start the project on Monday so wish us luck, its a big job! Thanks to Leah for the idea and such excitement to paint! we are going to listen to music and paint. Leah wants the Norah Jones on to paint to. Can't wait!!

hello..first off it was was really cool reading all your responses to my last post thanks for sharing your perspectives:)
How is everybody's Halloweens going? Lots of people probably went to parties on the weekend, some people may be doing fun things tonight too. If you have kids, are you taking your kids out trick or treating? or going to the malls? I like the idea of going to a big bon fire tonight. We are probably going to stay home though. The is a big bonfire in our neighborhood we may decide to go...or stay home and watch Halloween some more...its been like a Halloween marathon over at our house! We are for sure going to pass out candy! I hope lots of kids come to our house. We even put up some decorations. It may look a little sad though ....we could have been a lot more creative with our decorating but still I'm proud of our effort...maybe next year we will get some orange xmas light and scary music. I want to find scary something on tv and put speakers out the door tonight.
I was trying to convince ry to dress and as a woman and me a man but hes not going for it.hehehe Im gonna put the M&m costume back on and Ry's going to ahhh put on baseball stuff and be a psychotic fan.
On the weekend I went to Celeste's and Amy's and Littlebird's place for a Halloween party.. It was fun. thanks again you guys:) She posted some photos too! go check Celeste's site and I'll try post some soon too.

What if we all talked to ALL our friends online? Could we eventually have ourselves socializing more online rather than in person? Maybe you would sorta develop an alternate personality...like an online personality and then your regular original personality. Are you different online then they are offline? Or maybe you appear different. Maybe you are the same BUT people's perceptions of you vary and that makes you SEEM different but maybe you feel like you are being you in both situations.

I realize that everybody blogs for many different reasons and each to their own...blogging is a great creative outlet, a way to meet people and to have discussions. Could be somebody's way to share photography and art or to keep family and friends undated on things, to journal/scrapbook, share opinions, and bullshit about random stuff.

When online, r you more yourself than offline cause you are saying what's in your mind and you are not watching another's reaction to what you said? When online, talking on msngr. or blogging, U may have no idea and less concern so u continue on and on....I don't know if this makes sense but I will continue on cause its my blog and I can't see anybodies reactions so I will continue on and on and on even if I am boring you. Cause I don't know if I am boring you or not and I never will. That's nice for you cause you don't have to worry about hiding your boredomeness reading what I have to say...You could either leave or just shake your head at me and read anyway. That's a good thing to some probably.

ah well anyway..What if people turned into this alternate personality(your original one eventually wears away) because you became dependent completely on your computer for socializing? What if it grew more and more each day until you are afraid to leave your house?Afraid to talk to people to their faces. I doubt that would ever happen. That would suck though. This is how my mind works when Im wide awake and Ry has to go to bed early for work in the morning. He has to get up round 4am. Poor guy..I am not a morning person I couldn't do it often.

Anyway,

Nobody would enjoy life anymore if it was an indoor, on the computer to socialize, kinda life. Its weird....aaaaahahahahahah imagine that....a planet full of a billion people all who basically live indoors. And eventually at your job there are more and more machines working and less team work....less social interectivness..welcome into my weird brain. Everybody have a good night, day or whatever you are about to do:)

Lisa Marie Young went missing from Nanaimo, B.C. on June 30th, 2002. For some reason she popped into my head today. I began to feel nauseous thinking about the unimaginable pain a parent must goes through after losing a child. And to never know what happened to your own child...It's so sad. It's so tragic. Parents should never have to go through the loss of a child its unnatural and unfair.. I can't even begin to empathize with Lisa's parents and the other people who were close to her...not to mention all the other families dealing with similar situations. I'm sorry for talking about something so sad but I just thought I might as well tell you about her, seeing that miracles do happen right? and hey, you just never know. My friend Allison Crowe wrote a song dedicated to Lisa, please listen to it if you get the chance and also if you'd like check out a site dedicated to finding Lisa. I did not know Lisa personally. I spoke to her once at a houseparty when I was 16 and I saw her face around school and the neighborhood when I was kid. You could tell she had a gentle soul.

I am posting just to move that last post down a bit...I don't like negativity on my blog for too long...but now i dont have much to say.. ho hum hmmmmmmmmmmmm....talking to leah on msn and just got home from work. I have to go back to work in a few hours. Then Im going to Leah's for a sleepover and we are gonna french braid eachothers hair, eat muchies, have pillow fights, and bake... actuallly by the time I get there we may change our minds and wanna go to bed cause we are old grandmas now and go to bed at 8pm lol... anywho I am staying there tonight so we can hang out all day tomorrow... no point in me driving back and forth back and forth. My throat feels a little sore...I hope Im not gettin sick and I really don't wanna pass anything along to miss B. Its real cold outside....brrrrrrrrrr.. I wanna fly away south..yes already... My mom, dad, Sister Sah, Jay, and the O'ster are going to Hawaii in Jan. I am jealous! I am excited for u guys..but of course I wanna be there...maybe we'll win some money.

ry's busy making us coffee, the cats and dog just had their breakfasts so they are happy. I'm not sure what doing today..I have to work at 5 tonight for my overnight shift.

When I was in grade uhhhhh 9 I think..I needed a costume last minute...it always seemed to be a last minute thing..anywho My dad had this brilliant idea of me putting on his rain gear and it went from there... We made me a gray beard, painted my tooth black, I wore a fishermans hat and the bright yellow industrial raingear..Nobody recognized me.. Maybe I'll try copy that costume this year. oh i also carried a stick with fishing line attached to it with a cardboard fish on the end. I also like Celeste's bear idea..that would be cute. But I don't know where to start on that one. That fishermans costume was the best ever I doubt Ill ever top that. I feel like going completely disguised though so people will have no idea who I am. Thats how I feel this year.

Anyways Leah, B, and Kara came over on Monday. It was such a nice day we went out for a nice drive along otter point rd...up through the hills and enjoyed the goreous views of the Juan de fuca strait. Then we stopped at a nice beach Bailey had a blast. She wanted to go in the waves..there were some nice waves happening and b would be walking towards them and leah would wooooosh her back just in time and B loved it. I got some nice photos of her and kara and leah. Then we made some butter tarts yummmmmmmmy. and i made the best meat pie eva...just jokin grocery store to thank on that one. Can't wait till you guys come out this way again..you two are awesome people..so genuinly kind, thoughtful and funny...both of you!..and B of course you already know how cute and fabulous u are!!

Then Monday night me and Ry watched some lame movie with an ok stroyline but terrible acting..i dont even remember the name of it. You don't need to know that detail anyway.

Yesterday me and Ry drove out Port Renfrew way and went to Botanical Beach. I absolutley love this place. I am so intrgued by ocean life and this is a fun place to explore all of the cool tidal pools and the sealife in them.. We also like to rock jump. No bears this time...that is a good thing..The last thing I want to see face to face on a trail is a bear actually no a cougar would be worse. I got some awesome great pics when at Botanical Beach.

If you aren't from here. You may have heard of the West Coast Trail or Juan De Fuca trail for multi day hikes..Well the Juan De Fuca trail ends at Port Renfrew(where we were) and the West Coast Trail begins on the other side of the river from Port Renfrew...The West Coast Trail is world famous I think ..I d like to do it one day..It is a tough hike..you need to be well prepared.

Can't wait to go back to Botanical Beach again and walk from Bay to Bay admiring all the cool sandstone and sealife. Its pretty neat to have this so close....

heheh i have to add this in Ry just brought me pancakes..one in an 'L' shape and another in a heart...hehe too cute. oh Rynin.

Guess waht though? A bear ran in front of our car on the way home tonight..actually it was pretty close..if ry didnt point it out I prob. would've hit it. But instead I slammed on the brakes and he ran on by... It was neat to see another bear..

Ive only ever seen four in my life and two of them happened in the last week. This one was in front of the Stonepipe..it must have been eating garbage at the pub or something.. Last cahnces for them to stock up on the grub so they are heading down..Lock up your garbage and pick up your apples! OR THE BEARS WILL TAKE OVER!

Every Thursday for the past three weeks hanging out with Lehaa and B on my split has been nice. I bring over breakfast and Lehaa makes us all lunch and we have a pretty mellow and relaxing time and a good visit and lots of laughs of course... Lehaa has the best sense of humour. B is so cute and so much fun...I am amazed with how much she changes each week I see her. What a precious little girl she is. I love her to bits! It was cute to see B get all giddy when her show big comfy couch came on...she is saying more and more new words each time I see her. I love her hi... "hallo"....so cute! and "up-pease"...or "all dum"...and "titty"(referring to the cats)..Thanks lehaa I love our thuper thursdays

When a few weeks turn into months

I miss a friend of mine. We have been friends since we were born, as our parents have always been best friends...we've always been in and out of eachothers lives, but we always manage to keep in touch and start up again where we left off. Well its been quite some time since Ive spoken to her....we've played phone tag a few times..but now its been so long that it just seems harder and harder to connect as the time passes us by...we need the time to sit and catch up ..it would prob.. be a long conversation since we havent spoken in forever. So I really hope we talk soon..I miss her and she's pregnant and I want to be around during this special time in her life.

I just found out that you read my blog! I got your call this morn and I was so happy to hear from you. I hope you are doing well I think about you lots. I miss u in my life. We will connect soon! Lets both be more persistant this time. Love. xox

mmmm bread and the imposter kitty

I am making a loaf of bread. It will smell good in about 2 hrs. I have only made bread once before and it was three days ago and I don't think I was exact enough with my yeast measurement cause the loaf was really short. It did taste good though. I made stew and we dipped my nice homemade bead in it. Ryans nanna gave us their breadmaker. I think I like the smell the best. Thanks Leah for introducing me to how easy making bread in a breadmaker is.

There is a kitty imposter on our porch and he knows our cats through the glass and they swat at eachother but they just hit at the glass because our cats are inside and the imposter cat is outside. He wants to be friends with Ike and Meekah. Ike is interested and Meekah is not.

I was listening to some podcast things off Matthew Goods blog also I was interested in some things he has written and some of his drawings on his flickr page.

This morning when I got out of bed ( it was approximatly 7am), I was opening the curtains in our bedroom and looking out the window, which looks out to our backyard and the large empty lot behind us, which is surrounded by Blackberry Bush. During the wet months, a creek flows down alongside our property line, through the lush forest and down towards the lot behind us. When loking out I saw our bear wondering around the grass feild in the empty lot. So I quickly went to find the camera and two seconds later the bear was gone. So our bear seems to be living and feeding on all the berries out back. He is keeping to himself and going about his business I do not mind at all. We will take Tessa out into the backyard on her leash and we will keep our garbage in the shed. I hope the bear is safe and that nobody hurts him. He should probablly head up to the forst soon though cause they might end up having to move him or maybe even shoot him. That would suck big time.

I am very content with life...I am happy with how everything has ended up. Its weird. At this moment I am taking a distant look at what my life looks like and Hmmm Im begging to realize, this is something I do not really think about. Looking close at your life from a different perspective. Like from the outside in. I am so used to living my life each day that I don't really pay attention and see closely what people might think of me. What type of person am I. But I try not to worry about what other people think of me. I guess its not really our business what other people think about us. I don't mean this in a way that you don't have to consider another's feelings but just that we need to be ourselves and not worry about if others will like us or not. It doesn't really matter. Each person will attract and find the necessary people, the people who they need in thier lives, and ones to learn from along the way and those special friends who know you very well and care about you and who each see you in slightly different lights. It takes a while to get used to when there have been a lot of big changes Just refecting on how different my life was was even a couple of years ago. I feel like I can relax and enjoy life. I am totally at ease. I am learning who I am more each day and love the journey of life. I forever will be figuring out who I am and trying to become the best person I can be and live a very happy life with inner peice. Me and Ryan have accomplished so much together and have so much to be proud of. More importantly our relationship but also moving into our first house in which we both have worked so hard for. Getting married is a wonderful thing. It doesn't end there though by any means. Inner peice is something I will work towards my entire life..and there will be endless obstacles along the way. When you are married it does not take away any of your own personal issues. It is a partnership in life. It is love. It is also having your special time together, together with eachother's friends and families, but also individually with one another's friends and families. Keeping ones individual life is so important. I know this for myself anyway. Spending time with friends without your partner there. Doing what each person feels like doing in that moment. Respecting one another's desires. Let your partner be who they are and more importantly, let your partner become who they are meant to be.

Weird a bear was in our backyard...I believe it wasn't long ago I was saying I love living out here so close to the woods ....as long as a bear or cougar doesn't come visit...but I WAS kinda jokin...i never really though it would happen...and it was about 10 feet from our back door. I am not kidding. I wish we got photos and that I was at home. I would be exstatic .....maybe a little scared if I was outside..they are way more scared of us though. Really there's not much to be afraid of..keeping your animals safe is prob. the most important.

My parents and aunt have been helping my grandparents (on my dad's side) move over from West Vancouver. Both my dad and his sister were raised in West Van. and my grandparents have not moved away from West Van....until now. So its a very big deal and involves a lot of work and a variety of emotions..My parents and Aunt have been working so incredibly hard on helping out. They have handled everything so perfectly with feeling out every situation and being very respectful and caring and they have made this move go as smoothly as it possibly could have. My grandparents will step foot into their new home this afternoon..everything in place..all their things unpacked. They also have a view of a lake. I am blessed to have the family that I have. I can't wait to hear how it all went today and I wish I were there.

did i mention Im glad to have a routine? I know what hrs I work and I know my days off and they STAY THE SAME!!! I was a casual emplyee for two yrs so i was all over the place. I feel like a gigantuone weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I feel good about life. I think with the new schedule I may be able to make some positive changes in my life..some which Ive been needing to work toward for a long time. I hope I can do it. I am a procrastinator and I am sometimes lazy. I talk about doing so many things that are really important to me and its really hard for me to follow through on them. I need to live a better life and it must start now! dont laugh at me.

I had a blast last night. I am very not good for wrk this morn. it'll be an interesting and challenging day. The night was well worth it. Leah it was so nice to have a night like this with u ... a first since little Bay me thinks. Def. look foward to many more. I have been off tv for some time BUT this show (The Office) got me back on tv......oh i do also like Weeds..well that show was the only one I watched last year ..me and ry are waiting for the premiere. Anyway...i think that The Office is the only time that The States has copied a show from the original British show and it wrked out to be just as good...They steal so many, BUT this one is actually good.

Im a little sad today...u ask why? because...Lehaaa said it was suppose to like 22 and blue skies...well if u live in Victoria your prob thinking well dumbass it is 22 and blue skies..but, i live in sooke and apparently the sun doesn't shine out here. It lookslike the foggy dampness may be finally starting to clear..I really hiope so cause I want to enjoy being in the backyard...i keep getting distracted and somehow keep ending back at my computer and this blog...ah well what can you do? hummmmmm...well gonna go try actually do some work..cause i want ry to be proud of me when he gets home. then im goint o make chicken, guac sandwiches.yum!
wow on my stat thingy my amont of visitors that came to my site for under 10 sec. has skyrocketed. My regular blog friends all stay and ACTUALLY READ A LITTLE BIT! like come on people!. but I guess cause Raymi put a link on her pg today to my blog so Im gettting all these passer byyers..does my site really look THAT dull enough to only stay for 1 second? oh well. Needlass to say its interesting. Raymi sure has a lot of readers... even though most of them are supposedly dumb, oh woops..ugly is the word she used.., 15 yr old people from LA.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm had a great weekend. I love Holly McNarland..do listen. Celebrated my sisters bday on Fri and hung out with family on Sat. Sat night Meliss came down and we all went out for dinner at Christy's pub. They have such good eats there yum! I had oysters ..how adventurous of me...and boy were they ever good! and I had garlic fries...I swear I'm still sweating out garlic! Oh my moms Indian food was amazing!

I spoiled Alley with 24 roses and some money toward her new flat iron. me and Ry brought over a cheesecake bday cake. Sooooo this week I am not eating cause I definatly feel the effect of the major amounts of food and alcohol consumed over the past three days. Was it worth it you bethca!

Sister stayed here last night and we continued our weekend celebrating..this morn we went out to a yummy cafe and then took the dog to Whiffin Spit...she had so much fun(the dog that is) and she only pissed me off once...when she took off and tried hunting birds....(BTW she killed a bird in our backyard yesterday I was SO NOT IMPRESSED!)and then ate lotsa seaweed AGAIN! there's noo stopping this girl! last time we took her to the beach she ate so much seaweed then in the middle of the night puked two times...poor girl but she does it to herself... I guess we just can't go to the beach often....But I love the beach.

Anyway...For the record this is still my jornally blog..thats why I started this just as a journal so I have a rule to not spellcheck or spend too much time on my posts........thats why it reads like a 10 year old wrote half the stuff here...oh and Im not that great of a writer..its not a strong point.. I can draw but not write. It our date night tonight I am cooking dinner but prob just salad cause I feel fat. I think Im ovulating cause I have little pains in that area. Just incase anybody was interested.

hummmm im bor-ED..ho hum. Need human contact. Can't sleep yet. Going Crazy by myself. anyway its not really that bad im exaggerating so don''t take me seriously. arrrgggggggggggg. I'm tired but not ready for bed at the same time Im still all wound up after work but braindead at the same time. Tomorrow my mom and dad are coming down from Nanaimoland and we are all taking over Alison and JT's crib! Hi all. Last week Sah and I finally went to The Chilis concert. We stayed at her sister's house just outside of the bad end of town in Vancouver. I enojyed the visit with Sahh's little sis and John too. I grew up with Sahh. We've known eachother since we were 5. And we lived with only one house in between us until we were 16 yrs. old. So sahh's little sis is kinda like a little sister to me in a way. And Kate has to be one of the most halariously creative unique of people on this earth...bad english no sense fixing.

We also went to visit Jen and Marrissa met up for lunch with them at Metrotown. Marrissa is as cute as ever:)Then bus, skytrain, Ferry boat, drive home........its tiring going to the big city and it makes me appreciate my rural unibomber(apparently my new nickname according to JT)lifestyle.

On Sat. morn it was getting up early packing AGAIN and picking up two of the guys I work with, helping them pack and heading up to Parksville to stay in a cabin for the night. It was a nice little holiday I quite enjoyed myself. But at the end of it I was TIRED! My parents were camping in Parksville so I took the guys for a visit at thier campsite and my sister and Owen and a couple of my parents friends came too. They really enjoyed themselves(the two guys) and it was nice to introduce them to some of the fam. This was my first experience going on any sort of holiday with people I work with and it was great..mostly to just see them have such a blast.

So Im off work till Wednesday at 5pm and with this new schedule me and Ry have TIME OFF TOGETHER!! HARRAY!! So tonight is date night. wine and a nice dinner at home sounds like a good plan. Don;t worry Ill leave the camera in its case;)

Well best be getting off my ass and moving on to other things besides the computer. I need a shower aand Im gonna take the pooch for a W. Later

I can't sleep
Me and ry have been brainstorming ideas of what we want to do for holidays next year. We always have so many places we talk about wanting to go and its always so tough for us to decide cause we want to go EVERYWHERE!

We may go on a camping road trip and bring Tess with us..maybe just in and around B.C. maybe stay in a cabin on a lake... If we stay for like two weeks somewhere on the island then fam. and friends can come and stay with us. We could go fishing and hiking and stuff.

I really want to go to the Queen Charlotte's and to Gwaii Haanas and go on a group adventure into the boonies... kayaking to Burnaby Narrows and to see grizzlies in the fall when they are feeding off the salmon along the coast which requires mega $$ so it may not happen...but its a dream of mine

We also have talked about driving along the oregon coast..but then there is always Europe...a billion and one places over there we want to go to. I think we'll do something that includes our dog. and we prob. won't get July, Aug holidays this year. Any ideas???

Well Im gonna try sleep again. Why is it that Ry can go to sleep in an instant and it takes me forever. I wish I could have one of those solid sleeps where u don't wake up at all in the night. I don't have those sleeps these days.

I love summer

Me and Ry have now been together for FIVE years! Yesterday was the anniversary of when we hooked up at good 'ol Bar Victoria. Happy 5 yrs baby;)

Right before I got home from Australia and moved down here to Victoria, friends were actually trying to get Sahh and Ry together ...neither were interested in eachother..When I told Sahh that "hey, I think I like that Ryan guy"
she was all like "alright!! That means Im off the hook!!"
Anyway me and Ry danced all night and we had our first kiss on the dance floor of Bar Victoria. I was a little tipsy and he was sober. hahaha...We walked back to our friends house, I think it was Ern's and Andrea's at the time...(Ern correct me if I'm wrong)..anyway we talked the whole way there and thats how it all began. He came to my work a few days later and I had my coffee break with him and we exchanged numbers. We had a lot of fun getting to know eachother. We've now been married for 1yr and 7 months. I love my Rynan

Surf season is coming also with fall and I want to try go this year. JT, my sis' man goes quite often so I always say I'm gonna tag along but haven't yet. So this fall I will! We have great surf only a short drive from our house so its super easy.

hmmmmmm not much to say. Took the doggie into town with me..cause I was doing these surveys as an extra work thing I got asked to do.. ***NOT TO SELF-do not take on too much extra work!

I don't mind working extra once in a while. But being happy on a daily basis is important and I don't want work to ever consume me. But anyway back to the dog thing.

She came to work with me it was pretty fun. She got to visiit a couple of the group homes and vacuum all the floors of crumbs etc. She enjoyed meeting everybody. and everyone just loved her!
She better not have bad gas tonight cause of all the food scraps and doggie treats people gave her. Those farts linger. they are dis GUST ING!!!

Routine and Stability...What I've been fighting against for the past two years

Soon, I will no longer be a casual employee. I finally landed myself in a position. I'm relatively happy with the hours and I love the house that I will be working at.

I haven't applied for many permanent positions because most of them are harsh weekend hours that haven't fit with having any sort of social life. I will soon have mon and tues off and I will work weekends but its flexible like 9-5 or 11-7, depending on whats going on. Also I can include the guys in my own life, once in a while...if I have somewhere I want to go..like a family thing or even with friends. I am supporting people, so I think its important to have a good relationship and I want to include them with friends and family sometimes.

It feels like they are welcoming me into their family, so it should go both ways. and to keep professionalism in mind at times....but not to go too overboard with professionalism as well ...because they are people and I don't want their lives to seem like a workplace. Thats the last thing I want.

So I have finally given in to working weekends. All for the routine and stability. Its been two years of jumping between 13 different homes and 3 mon-fri day programs, filling in while people take their holidays or are off on leave or sick. I have learned so much about all the people we support.

I WILL MISS the variety, never being bored, seeing everybody on a regular basis, and of course being able to book whatever time off I wanted off!

I WILL NOT MISS having to carry my cell phone ALL THE TIME and constantly being called by work. Also, as a casual, I could never commit myself to things, like the slowpitch league, for example..cause I would then be at risk for not getting enough hours. Also it will be nice to have a routine again and plan things easier. Being comfortable again in a job will be nice. I also look forward to playing a bigger role in these people's lives.

WOW and I now have holidays and sick time accruing!!! yippee! woah and a pension woah am I in the big leagues now or what? hahaha honestly, being happy in my job matters more to be than all those extras..but it is kinda nice.

I will miss the freedom.
