Our little boy is sick

We are so sad. Our little boy was all of a sudden in A LOT of pain this afternoon. I had to call the on-call vet he was so bad. I brought him in and he had a high temperature. He was afraid to move and he was crying. I am so sad. I had to leave him at the vet overnight so they can monitor him. They will give him antibiotics and a special liquid thingy under his skin (instead of a drip - to hydrate him). We think he has some sort of infection in his bowel. There is always a possibility that he swallowed something like an elastic but we hope not. I hope he will be fine. The vet is going to call me later tonight to update me. This is the first time he has been away from his home overnight. The poor little guy. He must be so terrified. I can't stop thinking about him.

The stray cat I adopted a few years ago recently disappeared. I fear that she is dead now.

So I called Ry from work today and he said they wanted to keep him because he hasn't been eating... WELL he's freaked out being there so its pretty damn normal for him to be not eating. His temp. is now apparently normal.

So I decided to stop by there and take hime home anyways cause he would be a lot happier. So after I pay my vet bill of $381.00 I take Ikey home. He is all nice and rubbing agaINST MY FINGERS THROUGH HIS KENNEL ON THE RIDE HOME..woops capslock..anywayI knew he was fine when I saw him.

I guess they just need to take extra precautions at the vet. But he seems fine. They took blood tests just incase in which will come back wednesday. Our vet is really good and all the staff are super nice..but when you are the parent you seem to almost know thier needs best. Anyway..Ihad to bring him in cause he was in a lot of pain. I would pay whatever to help my little guy as he is part of the family and we'll work it out..
I'm just happy cause Ike seems fine now:) He ate right when we arrived home. A VERY good sign!!

Aimes your sis is a real sweety:)

kay new update on Ike...I spoke too soon..he's still sick ...

not NEARLY as bad but he is just not himself...very sedated and sluggish. He has been eating and had a drink so I'm sure he's gonna be fine.

Whats really weird though is that Meekah, our other cat, has been acting really strange and hissing at him..she's being a real bitch to him. My friend Leah says she's heard that some cats do this. Meekah is also keeping a close eye on him.

did the vet give him any stomach meds? My dog was sick like that they gave him medicine. Also, Pepto bismal will safely settle animals' stomachs.

bland white rice with non greasy chicken breast will help too. I have mothered many an animal back to health...
