'Feet in the Sky' series

Ike was a little monster today and got all frantic on me all of a sudden, when I was holding him and scratched the shit out of my arm

..nice one sec. and freaked out by something the next second.. he is a nervous kitty sometimes...never will mean to hurt though...scratches are few and far between with Ike.. but Meekah... now theres a completely different story

Meekah can be a real bitch. she has been a little odd since she fell off my sisters porch way back about 5 yrs ago or something..Meekah used to be Alisons cat but we have her for now. We still love her for who she is and believe it or not she does have a real sweet side too. I think when cats are kept indoors they turn a little psychotic.

They have always been indoors until now and Im so scared to let them roam free. So they are part indoor-part outdoor cats..BUT, only outside with supervision! I think it may be worse though cause they enjoy it so much out there that once they've had a taste of the outdoors its not fair to keep them in, when what they really want , is to be outside. We are on a kinda busy road and they might get hit. Ike probably for sure cause he likes to explore everywhere!

It was so nice out today but real real windy. Our backyard is so enjoyable to sit in.

I love having a yard. It is so easy to relax..I pull the speakers outside the window, grab a book and a blanket to lie on and the dog hangs out with me. She was really interested in all the deer today. We had a deer family in the lot behind us all day. They seem to be always there. I also saw quite a few eagles soaring above and lots of other birds. We have lots of trees around us so we are lucky to get lots of wildlife around us. I just hope a cougar doesn't roam into our yard one day. Its a big fear I have and sometimes I have to convince myself that if I die from a cougar attack, its what meant to happen. I even have repeating dreams, that have came and gone over the years, of bears and cougars in the forest and me hiding from them. They are very vivid dreams sometimes scary other times exciting. I am totally blabbing on so hopefully you have lost interest by now anyway.

Hey-ohhh listen what I say-ohhh

I am in LOVE with The Red Hot Chili Peppers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Especially Anthony Kiedis!

Sarahs lended me Anthony's book 'Scar Tissue' and it is an amazing book.

I am really bad at doing book reviews so maybe I'll try find one online (here it is) and post it or maybe I'll post a few paragraphs from the book ..but prob not cause thats too much work.

But anywho you'll just have to read this book!!!! ESPECIALLY if you are a fan of the band!!! I appreciate the music even more and I was already a huge fan. Anthony Kiedis has led a pretty incredible life and he is a gifted writer. This book tells of his whole life. I just love it and ive only read 1/4 of it so far. Today I was reading paragraphs to Ryan and he was drawn in and I'm sure he'll read it too.

Ive been listening to the CD and I can't believe how they keep pumping out this amazing, unique, poetic, and real music. This guy is talented!!!!I can't rave about this band more than at this moment and on top of it all me and Sarah are going to see them in concert in September. I am unable to contain myself at this very moment thinking about the experience.

Here is a link to a review that I just found on the book, 'Scar Tissue'.
Dang! i haven't posted in fo-ever!..I get lazy and just put on photos to try to get you to return to my site. I should really try keep at it.. its nice to keep up then I can look back one day and its like an inventory on my life over the last while..
My blog has probably been boring though cause I haven't been saying nothing. NOTHING! well it goes with the weather. We've been busy too.

My parents came down for three nights last week. It was so nice to have them here for a long period of time. They were a huge help in our yard, as both my parents are the best of gardeners and my dad runs a nursery, so having them here is like having gardening instructors to answer any of our gardening questions. My dad taught me how to transpant the grass from a new garden we made and level it out properly and put in our bare spot where we pulled up a crappy uneven stone patio that the previous owner attempted to make.

My dad (with help from Ryan and I even dug one hole) planted 25 trees along our back fence to make a nice big hedge. Free from the nursery cause they were pretty sad looking trees...they would have just chucked them out but my dad nursed them for us, kept them alive and loaded them in his pickup and drove em down here for us. What a thoughtful father!

We had a great time. It was so nice and warm out and we gardened....made some really nice planters..my mom filled in this huge bulit in planter on our patio i think i already posted a picture of it..also we made a nice fish pond in an old barrel that was in the garden with ugly plants in it...so we bought a liner insert for the barrel and put in a bamboo fountain with a mini pump attached and a nice pond was made! also bought a couple of water plants for inside..

One problemo though..the pond was sold to us discounted because it was used at the garden shop we bought it from and it ended up having holes it it..we attempted to fix the holes...and it was all filled up and looking all beautiful..and sat all nice for a few hours but then all of a sudden 1/4 of the water drained out...so our patching job fell through. So I took the liner back today and she is all out until tomorrow so I'll have to go back soon and buy another. It WAS pretty though.

My dad also sprayed all our stinging neddle and some of the blackberries and weeds. They were seriously taking over our yard..and at a pretty good pace so the spraying was needed..especially cause of the neddle.

I think I got a permanent position at my job. At one of the homes I enjoy the most. The guys there are super great and loads of fun to be around. Yah it still can be challenging at times ..but I think working there regularily will be nice. I'll be able to plan things with these guys..the staff who are there permanently have been working with these men for years and they are all like family in a way.. They take the guys to a dude ranch in the summer, go on camping trips, go swimming go to parties and bbq's.. The guys have jobs on a 'work crew' and have one young man who takes them around to different contracts around thier small community out on the pennisula. They clean some parking lots and do various landscapeing and gardening jobs. They also collapse cardboard at three different pubs and clean up there parkinglots. They know all the staff at every venue they work at and have so many friends in the community. They l;ive pretty good lives and I am excited to be a part of their lives on more of a regular basis. I have so far just been filling in for reg. staff while they take holdays or sick time. So it will be challenging but really not hard hard work in my books and itll be fun.

Sometimes im like "Im getting paid to hang out and watch movies and have picnics?"

Well ok it isnt always perfect and simple happyland but we do get to have lots of fun on the job. Of course I have big responsibilty but the fun times balance that out.

wa wa wa weeeeekend well kinda

its Friday:) I know I work on the weekend but I work at a place I absolutely love working at and its kinda like hanging out with my other family for the weekend....I haven't seen these guys(actually 5 woman and a man live at this group home)in a while, so it will be a good couple days of work and I don't work till 2 tomorrow so its a mini weekend. I ditched out on our plans tonight. Ry, Al, and Jason were going to do something tonight but I am getting a stinky cold so I am going to rent a movie with hubby instead. Last night I was in bed at 7!! I went to just lay down BUT I ended up lying down all the way until 5'oclock this morn..just in time to get ready for work. I think I needed the sleep. So I just finished a week of work, working one on one with a man. I was really nervous because I haven't worked with him much before. It ended up going really well and now I am sad to be finished. The joys of being a casual ..jumping around place to place..one grouphome to the next or one dayprogram to the next. Though, the good thing about casual is that I can book time off whenever..I just don't get holidays and sick days etc..so I have to be good about my cash and save up and stuff.
I know you are probably not interested in my work stuff but this is partly like a journal for me and I just write whatever comes to mind so there. Hope everybody has a good fun weekend and make sure you cheer on Edmonton tomorrow night!!!!!!!!!

GO OILERS!!!

Elizabethtown

I saw the movie Elizabethtown last night and I LOVE LOVE LOVED it!!!! Awesome acting, very moving, great, great, great soundtrack. The last scene in this movie made me bawl.. just watch and you'll be in the same boat girls! I would even buy this one..and trust me..I'm not really one to buy movies..But this one is way up there with Garden State and Almost Famous.

*NOTE* Even if you find Kirsten Dunst annoying you still must watch this movie!

where did my comment button go?

The comment button under my most recent comment disappeared..Does anyone know why and how I can fix this???

yo whats up?

Just got home from work..i am shoo shleeepy. I am needing to take the doggie dog for a walk soon and it looks like its going to downpour so I better get going soon! I finished day three of my seven day stretch of work ..next week my parents are coming to visit us and dads bringing us a hedge! Thanks pops! He works at a nursery for those who don't know and they got some bad hedge in, so he was trying to nurse it back to life for us..and he is going to bring it down and help us plant it along our back fence..then if the hedge survives..when it grows tall enough then it will hide the ugly metal trailer that is parked on the huge empty grass lot behind us.

Today I have been thinking about he houseboat...mmm...sweet sweet houseboat..beer, swimming, friends, music. Last year I went on the houseboat up at Sprout lake with friends and it was a blast..I could not commit to it this Aug. cause of work. Maybe someone will back out then there will be room for me..I wonder if I'm off those days..I haven't talked to my Nanaimo friends in a while and must go see them soon. I work weekends until July 20something and then I have the rest of them off until Sept. Harrah!
Peace out and thanks for reading and leave a comment
